Common questions

When does the 2026-27 WNBL season start and finish?
WNBL27 tips off on Thursday 15 October 2026, when the Tasmania Jewels play their first WNBL game, at home to the Geelong Venom. The regular season runs for 16 rounds until Sunday 31 January 2027, followed by the Finals.
How many teams are in the WNBL?
Nine: Adelaide Lightning, Bendigo Spirit, Geelong Venom, Perth Lynx, Southside Melbourne Flyers, Sydney Flames, Tasmania Jewels, Townsville Fire and UC Capitals. Each team plays 22 regular-season games.
How do the WNBL27 Finals work?
Five teams make the Finals this season. Fourth plays fifth in an elimination final, the winner meets the minor premiers, and second plays third, with the two winners going through to the Grand Final.
Can a WNBL game end in a draw?
No. Overtime is played until there is a winner, so every tip is simply home or away.
Can I join after the season has started?
Yes. Members can join at any point during the season and start earning points from the next game they tip.
