Introducing My Circle ๐Ÿค
Global leaderboards prove you're good. My Circle proves you're the best among your friends. Build your circle, track your rivals, and settle those group chat debates once and for all. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Introducing My Circle: Because Beating Strangers Isn't Enough ๐ŸฅŠ

You've been climbing the global leaderboard. Your accuracy is sitting at a respectable 68%. You've earned a handful of badges. You're feeling pretty good about yourself. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Then your mate Dave texts the group chat:

"I've been absolutely killing it on The Tipoff lately. Pretty sure I'm the best tipper in this friend group." ๐Ÿ“ฑ

You check his profile. 52% accuracy. Fifty-two percent. That's barely better than a coin flip. ๐Ÿ“‰

But here's the problem: You can point our your positions on the Global leaderboard, but you really want a way that shuts Dave up fast. ๐Ÿ™Š

๐Ÿ† Introducing My Circle: Your Personal Leaderboard

We've heard this request from day one: "I love competing globally, but I want to easily see how I stack up against my actual friends."

So we built it. My Circle is a personal leaderboard that shows only you and the people you follow. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

No more searching or scrolling to find your mates. No more "I think I'm ranked higher than you." No more Dave claiming victories he hasn't earned. ๐Ÿšซ

Just you, your circle, and cold hard data. ๐Ÿ“Š

โš™๏ธ How It Works

Finding Your People ๐Ÿ”

Tap the search icon on the leaderboard to open the user search. Type a display name, and we'll show you matching users instantly.

Found your friend? Hit the Follow button. Done. โœ…

No friend requests. No waiting for approval. No awkward "why haven't you accepted me yet" conversations. It's Twitter-style following: You choose who's in your circle.

The Toggle That Changes Everything ๐Ÿ”„

On the leaderboard page, you'll now see two options:

  • Global: Shows the full worldwide rankings. ๐ŸŒ

  • My Circle: Shows a filtered viewโ€”just you and everyone you follow, ranked by the same metrics.

Weekly. Monthly. All-time. Filter by sport. It's the same powerful leaderboard system, but personal. ๐ŸŽฏ

Your Profile, Upgraded โœจ

Click on any user's profile and you'll now see:

  • Follower count โ€“ How many people are watching them ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

  • Following count โ€“ How many people they're watching

  • Follow button โ€“ One tap to add them to your circle

๐Ÿ”ฅ Why This Matters

1. Settle the Debates โš–๏ธ

Every friend group has that one person who claims they know sports better than everyone else. Now you have receipts. ๐Ÿงพ

"Dave, you're literally ranked 5th out of 6 in our circle. Maybe sit this one out."

Data doesn't lie. My Circle makes the data visible.

2. Personal Accountability ๐Ÿง

When you're competing against 10,000 strangers, a bad week doesn't feel that consequential. But when you're competing against your 8 closest friends? Every tip matters. โšก

That "I'll just guess on this one" attitude disappears real quick when you know Sarah is watching your accuracy drop.

3. Bragging Rights, Earned ๐Ÿฅ‡

Being ranked #847 globally is cool. Being ranked #1 in your friend group is legendary. My Circle creates stakes that actually matter to you. Not prize money. Pride stakes. ๐Ÿ†

4. Build Your Community ๐ŸŸ๏ธ

Sports are better with people you know. My Circle lets you build your own little corner of The Tipoff. Your colleagues, your family, or your fantasy league rivals.

Bring them in. Follow them. Watch them climb (or stumble). Ruthlessly screenshot when they don't. ๐Ÿ“ธ

๐Ÿšง The Empty Circle Problem (And How to Fix It)

When you first switch to My Circle, you might see... nothing. That's your cue to start building. ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

  1. Search for friends already on The Tipoff. ๐Ÿ”

  2. Invite your mates to sign up and follow each other. ๐Ÿ“ฒ

  3. Follow interesting tippers from the global leaderboard to learn from the best. ๐Ÿ’ก

  4. Check back weekly as the competition intensifies! ๐Ÿ“…

๐Ÿค” What We Didn't Build (On Purpose)

  • No approval required: We wanted zero friction. You follow; theyโ€™re in. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • No notifications (yet): Weโ€™re keeping it simple and spam-free. ๐Ÿคซ

  • No suggested users (yet): We wanted the initial experience to feel intentional, not algorithmic.

๐Ÿ The Competitive Landscape Just Got Personal

Global competition is motivating, but personal competition is addicting. ๐ŸŽฐ

You might not care if you drop 50 spots globally, but you'll absolutely care if Dave passes you in the rankings. My Circle isn't about being the best in the world; itโ€™s about being the best among the people who actually matter. ๐Ÿฅ‡

Community growth is easy; community engagement is the real battle. Whether youโ€™re managing a high-traffic subreddit or a tight-knit Discord server, the "lurker effect" can make your community feel quieter than it actually is. The Tipoff Groups bridges that gap by providing a zero-friction, gamified experience that turns passive observers into active competitors. By automating the leaderboard and the "trash talk," you eliminate the administrative headache of manual contests while giving your members a statistically-backed reason to check your channels every single day.
